UCLan Scholarship Scheme

UCLan International Scholarships and Bursaries
We are delighted to announce our scholarships and bursaries for September 2013/14 entry.  These awards are for self-funded international students applying for full-time taught programmes of study at UCLan.

Vice Chancellor’s Award: £1,500 GBPThe Vice Chancellor’s Award is given to high achieving students to reward their academic results.  It is worth £1,500 GBP and is given for the first year of study at UCLan.
Who is eligible:
• Undergraduate applicants with A- Levels or equivalent at grades BBB or above (300 UCAS Tariff Points)
• Postgraduate taught programme applicants with the equivalent of a 2.1 Bachelor degree

How to apply:
When you send us evidence of your academic grades with your UCLan application form, our International Admissions Team will assess your qualifications and award the scholarship if appropriate. You do not need to fill in a separate application form.

Country Bursaries: £1,000 GBP
A Bursary worth £1000 GBP is available for undergraduate and postgraduate taught applicants who are nationals of, and resident in, Indonesia, Vietnam, Brazil and Colombia in their first year of study at UCLan.
Appropriately qualified applicants would also be eligible for the Vice Chancellor’s  Award.
Who is eligible:
Only applicants who are nationals of, and resident in the countries mentioned above are eligible for this bursary.

How to apply:
This award will be automatically given to students from the countries listed above when your application is received by the International Admissions Team. 
You do not need to fill in a separate application form. 

Postgraduate Scholarship: - 20% off tuition fees:
Postgraduate applicants who have completed a UCLan undergraduate programme will receive a 20% scholarship for their chosen postgraduate taught programme at UCLan, Preston campus.
Who is eligible:
Applicants who have completed a UCLan undergraduate programme or an undergraduate programme from any of our international partner institutions listed here: http://www.uclan.ac.uk/information/international/partnerships.php
How to apply:
Whilst this scholarship will be shown on your offer letter, you will need to complete a form at enrolment. This award is available to students who have completed their bachelor degree programme at UCLan or any of the international partner institutions listed above. 

UCLan Articulation Partner Scholarships:  £1,500 GBP
This award is for applicants from specific programmes in partner institutions that have a formal articulation partnership link for advanced entry into a programme at UCLan.
Who is eligible:
Applicants from specific programmes in partner institutions with a formal articulation link with UCLan.  Please see details on the country pages.

Early payment bursary
An early payment bursary of £300 GBP will be deducted from your fees if you pay your fees in full at or before you enrol and if the tuition fees for the year of study exceed £5,500. This bursary is only available for payments made on or before 1 October 2013 and no further extensions will be granted.

Chevening Scholarship: 
Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. The Scholarships are awarded to outstanding scholars with leadership potential. Awards are typically for a one-year Master’s degree, in any subject and at any of the UK’s leading universities.
Applicants from this region can apply to study at UCLan on a Chevening Scholarship.

Windle Trust Scholarship: Windle Trust International invests in the education and training of refugees, the displaced and other communities emerging from conflict, in order to promote peaceful development in Eastern and Central Africa. 
Applicants from these regions can apply to study at UCLan on the Windle Trust Scholarship.

Higher Education Scholarship for Palestinians (HESPAL):
HESPAL aims to help create the next generation of senior academics who can maintain international quality standards at Palestinian universities and to develop renewed, sustainable links between Palestinian and UK universities.
Applicants from this region can apply to study at UCLan on the HESPAL Scholarship.
