The Neural Control of Movement Laboratory (NCM) in the Department of Health Sciences and Technology (D-HEST) of ETH Zurich has an opening for a fully funded
PhD position in small animal neuromodulation and neuroimaging
The goal of this project
will be to gain better understanding of the neural basis of autistic
behavior. The applicant will develop and apply new technologies for
neuromodulation and neuroimaging in animal models for Autistic Spectrum
Disorder (ASD). Planned studies will utilize MR imaging, optogenetic,
pharmacogenetic, molecular and behavioral methods to explore the neural
circuitry linking brain stimulation, functional connectivity and
behavior.
ETH has access to excellent technical facilities including small-animals 7T and 9.4T MR scanners and laboratories for behavioral testing and optogenetics.
Employment is expected to begin in the second half of 2015 and international applicants are welcome.
