Undergraduate Scholarships at Aston business School, UK

9.3.12 |

Our global reputation means that just under a quarter of our undergraduates are non-UK students, representing 74 countries.

The breadth of appeal means that we receive applications from countries like Vietnam, USA, India, China and Kazakhstan.

The international diversity is increasingly reflected in the international focus of our programmes.

Students from outside the European Union can study for either three or four years. If you decide to study on a four year degree, you will be able to undertake a placement. This means you will be working in a graduate level position for one year providing you with the opportunity to gain valuable commercial experience and to earn a salary. The placement year takes place in the third year of a four year degree. Although not compulsory for non-EU students you are positively encouraged to undertake the placement because of the additional experience and skills you are able to gain.

We can offer scholarships to help with the cost of tuition fees.

We also run an exchange programme which provides international students at our partner institutions the opportunity to study at Aston Business School.

Our International Office staff regularly visit a number of countries to participate in Higher Education exhibitions and college visits, giving you the chance to talk to someone in person. Details of forthcoming visits as well as further information for international students on fees, accommodation and student welfare can be found here.

We also have extensive international links which underpin our growing global reputation.

The Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP) are designed to promote capacity building within organisations in 61 countries by providing training and education to mid-career staff. The NFP is funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the budget for development cooperation.

To be eligible for an NFP fellowship, candidates need to be admitted to the master’s degree programme or short course for which they would like an NFP fellowship or be admitted as a PhD student.

Obtain academic admission

You first apply for academic admission directly to the Dutch institution. Your admission must be unconditional in terms of your education and language proficiency. Admission may be granted only, subject to you finding suitable funding for the programme.

You are strongly advised to seek academic admission as early as possible to allow the institution to process your application in time. Check the deadlines for academic admission with the Dutch institution directly for up-to-date information.

The academic admission process for a PhD study is an individual track. If you want to be admitted as a PhD student check the requirements and the deadlines with the Dutch institution.

If you have been admitted to more than one course or study programme in one fellowship per application deadline you will have to choose one programme before you apply for a fellowship.

Full Library Research Fellowship Program at California State University

|

Thanks to generous funding from the Elios Society, the University Library at California State University, Sacramento is pleased to inaugurate a three-year Library Research Fellowship Program to support the use of the Tsakopoulos Hellenic Collection by fellows for scholarly research in Hellenic studies while in residence in Sacramento. The Program provides a limited number of fellowships ranging from $500 to $4,000 to help offset transportation and living expenses incurred during the tenure of the awards and is open to external researchers anywhere in the world at the doctoral through senior scholar levels (including independent scholars) working in fields encompassed by the Collection’s strengths who reside outside a 150 mile radius of Sacramento. The term of fellowships can vary between one week and three months, depending on the nature of the research, and for the first year will be tenable from July 1, 2012-June 30, 2013. The fellowship application deadline is March 13, 2012. No late applications will be considered.
Comprising the holdings of the former Speros Basil Vryonis Center for the Study of Hellenism, the Tsakopoulos Hellenic Collection, currently numbering some 75,000 volumes, was donated to Sacramento State in December 2002 and named in honor of its benefactor and alumnus Angelo Tsakopoulos. With its focus on the Hellenic world, the Collection contains early through contemporary materials across the social sciences and humanities relating to Greece, its neighboring countries and the surrounding region, with particular strengths in post-Classical Hellenism.

There is a broad representation of languages in the Collection, with a rich assortment of primary source materials. Since 2009 the Collection has experienced dramatic growth with the gift acquisition of the libraries of the late Pyrrhus J. Ruches and the late Dr. Steve A. Demakopoulos, which together are adding over 5,000 volumes to our holdings in the areas of Greek language, folklore, history, literature, music, and anthropology. For further information about the Tsakopoulos Hellenic Collection, visit http://library.csus.edu/tsakopoulos .

For the full Library Research Fellowship Program description and on-line application, see:http://library.csus.edu/tsakopoulos/lrfp.asp . Questions about the Program can be directed to George I. Paganelis, Curator, Tsakopoulos Hellenic Collection (paganelis@csus.edu).
