The International Leaders in Education Program (ILEP) is a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, and is implemented by IREX (the International Research & Exchanges Board), a Washington, DC based non-profit organization.

ILEP will consist of a semester-long academic program at a U.S. university, including coursework and intensive training in teaching methodologies, lesson planning, teaching strategies for their home environment, teacher leadership, as well as the use of computers for internet, word processing and as tools for teaching.

The semester-long program, which will commence in January 2013 and conclude in May 2013, will also include an internship at a secondary school to engage participants actively with the American teachers and students.

The Fellowship provides:

Round-trip airfare to and within the U.S.
A Welcome Orientation in Washington, DC
Academic program fees
Housing (generally shared with other program fellows)

DISCIPLINES

The International PhD (IPHD) Program at Sun Yat-Sen Business School

Overview

The International PhD (IPHD) Program at Sun Yat-sen Business School (SYSBS) is designed to foster IPHD students to become top-notch doctoral students in both China and the world. At present, the program concentrates on one major – international management (IM) – coached by a team of domestically and internationally renowned faculty in the field. It is a full-time, five-year (or less), fully funded program offering the students tuition waiver and stipend. The program also arranges and financially supports each student one-year overseas training and research mentored by internationally reputed scholars. The program aims to place its doctoral students, after completing the program, in top Chinese business schools or internationally recognized business schools abroad. 

Distinctions

Ø The program focuses on establishing a solid theoretical and methodological foundation on which the doctoral students can build for their future research and academic career. Most courses (theories, methods, advanced topics), specifically designed for this program, will beoffered by internationally reputed scholars. Courses are taught in English.

Ø Each student will be mentored throughout the program by a faculty team consisting of internationally established scholars from the U.S. and from SYSBS. The students are expected to sharpen their skills in research and publications not merely through coursework but by collaborative research with their international mentors or advisors.

Ø The program will financially support each student for up to five years by covering his or her all tuition and stipend in commensuration with living expenses in Guangzhou, providing they maintain satisfactory progress in the program.

Ø During his or her up to 5-year period and after completing core coursework, each student will be sent overseas, studying under and researching with his or her international advisors for up to one year. This overseas study/visit will be financially sponsored by the program.

Ø IPHD students for this program are recruited globally (Chinese and foreign students) using international standards (e.g., GMAT). Likewise, once completing the program, their job placements are global too.

Ø The program also offers each student an opportunity to enhance teaching skills, conduct field studies, and financially support their international travel to attend and present at major international conferences. 

Credentials


To be eligible for admission to this competitive program, an applicant is required to have (at least) a bachelor's degree from an internationally accredited university, top at his or her classes, and excel in English. All doctoral students are admitted as full-time, beginning in the fall. 

All applicants are required to complete their GMAT or GRE test by the application deadline, which is February 15. The test must be taken within the past five years. International students must also submit an official report of TOEFL. An exception is made for foreign students who obtained a bachelor's degree in the U.S. or another English-speaking country.

New Zealand-ASEAN Scholars Awards: Indonesia
 


Background  

The New Zealand-ASEAN Scholars Awards seek to make a substantial contribution to ASEAN’s development by providing opportunities for postgraduate study (i.e. Postgraduate Diploma, Master’s degree and doctorate/PhD) in New Zealand.
The New Zealand-ASEAN Scholars Awards (NZ-AS) are part of the New Zealand’s official development assistance to the ASEAN region. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, through the New Zealand Aid Programme, delivers this scholarships scheme.
Under the NZ-AS scheme, up to 170 scholarships are available to candidates from ASEAN countries. From the total of 170, up to 52 scholarships per annum are available for Indonesian applicants.
The scholarships are for full-time study (See the scholarships benefits) at one of nine eligible New Zealand institutions. See the list of eligible New Zealand education institutions

Who can apply?

Individuals who meet the following profile may apply for the NZ-AS scholarships:
  • From the public or private sector;
  • With a proposed field of study in support of sustainable economic development ,as the core focus of the New Zealand Aid Programme, especially agriculture, renewable energy (Geothermal) and disaster risk management;

Info Beasiswa The Singapore Scholarship

The Singapore Scholarship was announced by then Prime Minister of Singapore Mr Goh Chok Tong at the 6th ASEAN Summit in December 1998. 

The Scholarship is awarded to students from the other ASEAN member countries and tenable for a full-time undergraduate degree course at one of the three universities in Singapore. All disciplines except for Medicine, Dentistry, Architecture and Law are open to Scholars. The duration of each Scholarship is for three or four years, depending on the discipline. 

The award is based on academic merit and places will be allocated by open competition. If necessary, a one-year bridging or foundation programme, in addition to the undergraduate studies, will be provided. 

There is no bond imposed on the Scholarship by the Singapore Government. The Scholars are expected to return home to contribute to the development of their countries upon graduation.

Citizens of ASEAN member countries (except Singapore) are eligible to apply for the Singapore Scholarship.

Candidates must have an outstanding academic record, a good command of English and meet the entry requirements for NTU, NUS and SMU. The Singapore Scholarship is awarded on acompetitive basis on academic merit.

The University of Bristol invites applications for a fully funded 42
Month PhD Studentship in Mathematics commencing 1 October 2013,
working with Professor Tim Browning on his ERC funded project
Frontiers of Analytic Number Theory And Selected Topics (FANTAST).

The studentship includes an annual stipend at EPSRC rates (currently
£13,590 p.a.), and covers the University's tuition fees for EU or
overseas students. Applicants are expected to hold a first class
honours degree, or international equivalent, in Mathematics. There are
no restrictions on nationality.

The School of Mathematics has about 95 members of academic staff from
over 24 countries covering three areas of mathematics research, and an
international reputation for excellence in each. It was ranked third
for applied mathematics, joint fourth for statistics, and joint fifth
for pure mathematics based on the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise
(RAE) 2008. It is one of the largest schools in the Faculty of Science
and currently provides around 70 postgraduates with a vibrant and
stimulating place to work. Fourteen per cent of mathematics students
were from overseas in 2011/12, one of the largest international
communities in the faculty.

Research Groups Research groups in Applied Mathematics include
dynamical systems and statistical mechanics, mathematical physics
(quantum chaos, random matrix theory, quantum information,
condensed-matter theory), fluid dynamics (complex fluids, experimental
mathematics, turbulence, waves, granular flows), materials science,
and scientific computing.

Research groups in Pure Mathematics include algebra (representation
theory of groups and algebras, homological algebra, algebraic
topology), analysis (partial differential equations and spectral
theory), ergodic theory and dynamical systems (dimension theory in
dynamical systems, dynamics of group actions, Teichmüller dynamics),
logic (set theory and the foundations of mathematics) and number
theory (algorithmic number theory, analytic number theory and
Diophantine geometry).

The Statistics group's research projects include the modelling of
random phenomena, methods for the analysis of data, and computational
techniques for performing this modelling and analysis. The
applications of this research are many and varied, ranging from the
analysis of solar flares to robot navigation, from the behaviour of
socially organised animals to traffic queues and from genetic research
to signal processing.
