Beasiswa New Zealand-ASEAN Scholar (NZAS) 2011

29.3.11 |

Please be advised that New Zealand invite applications for the 2011 round (2012 intake) of the New Zealand - ASEAN Scholar awards.

New Zealand-ASEAN Scholar (NZAS) awards empower individuals with the knowledge, skills and qualifications to contribute to economic, social and political development within ASEAN nations.

In 2011 New Zealand will be offering 50 awards for Indonesians, a substantial increase from the 15 provided last year. This increase was one in a number of initiatives New Zealand Foreign Minister Murray McCully announced late last year that support New Zealand ’s deepening relationships with ASEAN countries.

For further information, kindly find attached the related documents which you also could get on our website at www.nzembassy.com/indonesia or www.aid.govt.nz

Grateful if you could share this info to the interest applicants.

Doctoral Scholarship at Victoria University

Doctoral Scholarship at Victoria University : The Discourse of
Negotiation in Professional Workplace Contexts

The role of effective workplace communication skills for achieving
transactional objectives can be considered fundamental to workplace
success for most organisations.

While important in all aspects of workplace interaction, these skills
are crucial in the negotiation of complex and potentially conflictual
agreements which potentially carry far-reaching consequences (Norisada
2007, Prego-Vazquez 2007, Pavlenko and Blackledge 2004, Locher 2004).
The negotiation process is a communicative endeavour with discourse as
the tool by which participants achieve (or fail to achieve) their
intended outcomes. A detailed analysis of discourse in social
interaction can thus throw valuable light on the range of strategies
which may contribute to resolving disputes and disagreements in
problematic and challenging negotiations.

The research objective is to identify the discursive characteristics of
effective negotiators and negotiations in potentially conflictual
situations in professional workplaces. The specific workplace(s) to be
the focus of the research, including industry/sector, will be negotiated
with potential applicants.

The deadline for applications is *15 May, 2009*. Application forms are

New Zealand Development Scholarship

16.12.08 |

New Zealand Development Scholarship

The New Zealand Development Scholarships (NZDS) scheme offers the
opportunity to people from selected developing countries to undertake
development-related studies in New Zealand.
This may include study related to education, health, rural
livelihoods, governance, human rights, or economic development,
depending on the human resource development training needs of the home
government.

New Zealand -Development Scholarships are offered for full-time,
tertiary level study at participating New Zealand education
institutions.
The NZDS scheme has two categories:
1-New Zealand Development Scholarships – Public category (NZDS-Public)
The NZDS-Public scholarships scheme is a bilateral scheme available to
individuals from selected partner countries in Southeast Asia and the
Pacific. The selection criteria is determined by the partner
government and NZAID.

Shortlisted applications, mostly from public sector employees, are
endorsed for a scholarship by the partner government. Employees from
civil society or private sector organisations may apply for the NZDS-
Public in some countries depending on country-specific selection
criteria. The levels and fields of study available for study in New
Zealand are determined according to the partner country's human
resource development training needs.

to candidates of some developing countries in Africa, Asia, Latin
America and the Pacific. Under the NZDS-Open scheme, candidates
independently apply for a scholarship.

NZDS-Open scholarships are generally directed at employees of private
sector or civil society sector organisations, including non-
governmental organisations. In some countries, public sector employees
can also apply for a NZDS-Open scholarship depending on the country or
region-specific selection criteria. This criteria also determines the
