Japanese Government (Monbugakusho/MEXT) menawarkan beasiswa untuk Research Students 2008 (University Recommended) dari Chiba University, Jepang.

Siemens Master Scholarship to Foreign to Study in Germany

Since 1997, Siemens has awarded scholarships abroad Master Bachelor graduates and enabled them to study in Germany. At the beginning of the 2006/2007 academic year, the Scholarship Program Masters Siemens will continue in cooperation with the best German universities.

Each university is awarded a maximum of five scholarships. In agreement with Siemens, the university awards these grants to excellent candidates supported by the country.
Middle East and Eastern Europe:
Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, the Baltic States, Russia, Bulgaria and Slovenia.
Asia:
China, Vietnam, Thailand, Pakistan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Bangladesh and India.

Academics are eligible to participate in one of the master’s courses jointly identified and to meet the criteria for applying to university.

In addition to financial contributions, we offer seminars and special training (language courses, intercultural seminars), to provide on-the-job assignments, supported by researchers in the creation of their master thesis and offer comprehensive supervision and counselling.

The Siemens master’s program aims to promote highly talented students from abroad, increasing the potential of experts and senior executives of Siemens and help them develop their full potential. In addition, it contributes to the internationalization and competitiveness of the German university and start networking.

Siemens selects candidates on the basis of the following documents:

1. Full CV (curriculum vitae)
2. Detailed explanation of the reasons for participation in the Master’s course favorite (letter),
3. Conditional acceptance letter from PGE,
4. Two reference letters from professors of his country of origin
5. Bachelor’s degree or a diploma certificate (copy of the original or certified translation)
6. High-school certificate or diploma equivalent school certificate (copy of the original and certified translation).

Fellows receive different types of support: It is limited to a maximum of 24 months and paid in the form of a monthly grant of subsistence. The fellowship begins on October 1 of the first academic year. The monthly financial support is EUR 755. In addition, each researcher receives money starting to 600 euros. School fees will not be paid. In addition, researchers will take part in four weeks of intensive German language courses, which takes place before the end of the study. Siemens pays the fee for the course, accommodation and pocket money of 400 euros for each participant. Several weeks after the start of the study, Siemens invites participants to a session opening in Munich. The event allows researchers to better understand the business, make contacts with other researchers and to start network. In addition, each researcher is also invited to a regional meeting students from other programs.

SEARCA Invites Applications for Graduate Scholarship in Agriculture 2008

SEARCA invites applications for its graduate scholarship (MS and PhD) in agriculture and related fields (including biological sciences, social sciences, economics and statistics, forestry and fisheries, environmental sciences, agro-industrial technology and engineering, and biochemistry) for School Year 2009-2010. The scholarship is open to Southeast Asian nationals, including Indonesians, who are regular employees of academic or research institutions or government agencies and not older than 35 years old.

Applicants may submit their applications to the Head, Bureau for International Cooperation, Ministry of National Education (MONE) in Jakarta. The MONE then submits the list of applicants accompanied by the complete set of requirements to SEARCA not later than 30 July 2008. All applicants are required to check with their Ministries of Education for the deadline of applicants' submission set by the Ministry.

Any one of the following universities may serve as study posts of SEARCA scholars: Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia; Kasetsart University and Thammasat University, Thailand; Institut Pertanian Bogor, Universitas Gadjah Mada and University of Indonesia, all in Indonesia; University of the Philippines (UP) Los Banos, UP Diliman, and UP Visayas, Philippines; and National University of Singapore, Singapore. SEARCA reserves the right to make the final decision on the choice of the scholars' study post. Therefore, applicants are required to submit to SEARCA applications for admission to the Graduate Schools of at least three universities in the list.

The list of requirements for application as well as all the required forms for scholarship application and admission to the graduate study programs of universities where SEARCA scholars may study may be downloaded from the SEARCA website at http://www.searca.org.

The topic of the research that the applicants plan to conduct for their thesis must be in line with the thrusts of SEARCA (i.e., promotion of agricultural competitiveness, sustainable land use and water management, and biodiversity conservation by addressing economic and institutional constraints, expanding access to productive resources and technology, and strengthening local governance capability to deliver agricultural services).

The Craig Mathieson China Master’s Scholarship

The University of Edinburgh offers a number of International Master’s Scholarships for postgraduate study in any subject offered by the University.
The most outstanding candidate from China who applies for an International Master’s Scholarship will receive the Craig Mathieson China Master’s Scholarship which was set up in 2005 in memory of Craig Mathieson who served as Director of the International Office from 2001 until his death in 2005. Craig was widely admired and welcomed in a number of countries including China where the University attracts a large number of students each year.

The Craig Mathieson China Master’s Scholarship will have a value of £5,000 which will be deducted from the tuition fee. The scholarship will be tenable for one academic year.

Eligibility

The scholarship will be awarded to a Chinese citizen who is normally resident in China, and who is accepted for admission on a full-time basis for a postgraduate Master’s programme of study at the University of Edinburgh.

Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so.

Criteria

The scholarship will be awarded broadly on the basis of academic merit with candidates requiring a Bachelor Degree with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 3.3 out of 4, or equivalent, from a recognised Chinese university.

In addition to the above academic qualifications, the selection panel will also take into account the financial circumstances of applicants to ensure that as far as possible a student’s financial situation does not impede a university education at the University of Edinburgh.

BEASISWA S3

l Selama mengikuti program S2, penerima beasiswa S3 harus mendapatkan nilai cum laude atau minimal berada pada peringkat ke-5.
l Pendaftar harus menyerahkan dua rekomendasi dari tokoh ilmuwan dalam bidang ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi.
l Pendaftar harus menunjukkan sikap kepemimpinan dalam bidangnya dan memiliki tingkat integritas dan kreatifitas yang tinggi.

Proses pendaftaran dan seleksi
l Pendaftar harus mengisi formulir pendaftaran secara lengkap disertai dengan dokumen penunjang.
l Pemilihan penerima beasiswa ditentukan dalam sidang dewan pakar yang telah ditentukan oleh Yayasan.

Pendaftaran untuk keberangkatan tahun 2008 telah dibuka 12 November dan akan ditutup pada 18 Januari 2008


Program Japanese Studies adalah salah satu program beasiswa Pemerintah Jepang (Monbukagakusho) yang dirancang khusus bagi para mahasiswa/i yang sedang kuliah di jurusan Jepang untuk meningkatkan kemampuan bahasa Jepang dan memperdalam pengertian kebudayaan Jepang. Program ini adalah program non-gelar dan lamanya adalah 1 tahun dari Oktober 2008.


PERSYARATAN

1.

Mahasiswa yang masih aktif kuliah di salah satu perguruan tinggi yang mempelajari bahasa, budaya, dan sastra Jepang..
2.

Usia di bawah 30 tahun pada tanggal 1 April 2008.
3.

Mahasiswa dari tingkat tiga ke atas pada waktu melamar (ada pengecualian bagi mereka yang mempunyai kemampuan dan direkomendasikan oleh perguruan tinggi dan yang sudah belajar lebih dari satu tahun di perguruan tinggi pada tanggal 1 April 2008 boleh ikut walaupun belum mencapai tingkat tiga).

Sehat jasmani dan rohani.


FASILITAS YANG DIDAPAT

Tanpa ikatan dinas.
2.

Tiket kelas ekonomi p.p. Indonesia (Jakarta) - Jepang.

Bebas biaya ujian masuk, biaya kuliah, dan uang pendaftaran.

CARA PELAMARAN

Pendaftaran dibuka pada 12 November 2007 dan ditutup pada 18 Januari 2008.

Pelamaran dilakukan secara kolektif dengan rekomendasi dari perguruan tinggi yang bersangkutan, bukan perorangan langsung ke Kedutaan Besar Jepang.
3.

Formulir yang telah diisi dikembalikan ke Bagian Pendidikan Kedutaan Besar Jepang dengan dilampiri dokumen yang diperlukan.

Bagi yang lulus wawancara akan direkomendasikan ke Monbukagakusho.
4.

Mereka yang lolos seleksi di Monbukagakusho akan menjadi penerima beasiswa.

Program Teacher Training (Penataran Guru)

Pendaftaran untuk keberangkatan tahun 2008 telah dibuka 12 November dan akan ditutup pada 18 Januari 2008


Program Penataran Guru (Teacher Training Program) adalah salah satu program beasiswa Pemerintah Jepang (Monbukagakusho) yang dirancang khusus bagi para guru untuk meningkatkan.kualitas pengajaran sesuai dengan bidangnya. Mereka akan diberikan pelatihan dalam cara mengajar, pembuatan rencana belajar-mengajar yang lebih efektif dan menarik minat siswa dan hal-hal lain yang dapat mengingkatkan kualitas dan memapuan para guru. Program ini adalah program non-gelar dan lamanya adalah 1 tahun 6 bulan (termasuk 6 bulan belajar bahasa Jepang) dari Oktober 2008


PERSYARATAN

1.

Lulusan S-1 atau D-4 dan guru yang mengajar secara aktif di SD, SLTP, SLTA (termasuk sekolah swasta). Pelamar telah mengajar lebih dari 5 tahun di lembaga pendidikan formal pada tanggal 1 April 2008. Semua bidang ditawarkan kecuali, bahasa Indonesia, bahasa daerah, bahasa Arab, pendidikan agama dan perhotelan.

Usia di bawah 35 tahun pada tanggal 1 April 2008.
3.

Sehat jasmani dan rohani.
4.

Bersedia belajar bahasa Jepang karena bahasa pengantar di universitas adalah bahasa Jepang.


FASILITAS YANG DIDAPAT

1.

Tanpa ikatan dinas.
2.

Tiket kelas ekonomi p.p. Indonesia (Jakarta) - Jepang.
3.

Bebas biaya ujian masuk, biaya kuliah, dan uang pendaftaran.
4.

Tunjangan bulanan sebesar ¥ 172.000 per bulan (ada kemungkinan mengalami perubahan).
5.

Setiap penerima beasiswa akan diikutsertakan dalam asuransi kesehatan nasional Jepang dan program subsidi biaya kesehatan.
6.

Peserta disediakan asrama yang pembayarannya diatur sendiri oleh penerima beasiswa.


CARA PELAMARAN

1.

Pendaftaran dibuka pada 12 November 2007 dan ditutup pada 18 Januari 2008.
2.

Bagi pelamar, baik pegawai negeri maupun swasta dapat langsung menyerahkan/mengirimkan formulir yang telah diisi ke Bagian Pendidikan Kedutaan Besar Jepang dengan dilampiri dokumen yang diperlukan.
3.

Bagi pelamar yang berstatus pegawai negeri tetap harus melapor dan menyerahkan fotokopi formulir kepada Biro Kerjasama Luar Negeri (BKLN) Departemen Pendidikan Nasional.

TAHAP PENYELEKSIAN

1.

Ujian tertulis bahasa Inggris (khusus untuk guru bahasa Jepang: ujian bahasa Jepang) pada tanggal 31 Januari 2008.
2.

Bagi yang lulus ujian tertulis akan dipanggil untuk mengikuti wawancara di Jakarta.
3.

Bagi yang lulus wawancara akan direkomendasikan ke Monbukagakusho.
4.

Mereka yang lolos seleksi di Monbukagakusho akan menjadi penerima beasiswa.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following general criteria to be eligible for a fellowship award:

* Be a national and resident of a World Bank member country which is currently eligible to borrow;
* Candidates should be under 45 years. Candidates born before January 1, 1964 will not be considered;
* Must have completed and been awarded at least a Master's degree, or equivalent, at the time of application;
* Be regularly registered in a development related doctoral program in their home or another country;
* Must have completed all coursework and exam requirements for their doctoral program;
* Be employed as full time lecturer or researcher by an academic or research institution in their home country;
* Be accepted as a visiting scholar by a renowned university for a period of five to ten months.

RSM Fellowships Program

The Robert S. McNamara Fellowships Program provides support to young researchers working in academic and research institutions from eligible countries preparing a doctoral thesis. Research grants cover residence costs for a 5 to 10 month period in a renowned university or research center. Fellows are expected to advance their research work mainly by using the facilities and resources provided by the host institution and by interacting with peers.

Who Can Apply?

Only lecturers and researchers from eligible countries working on their doctoral thesis can apply to the fellowship. Candidates should be under 45 years, and have completed any course work or exams required for their doctoral program.

What Does the Program Support?

The purpose of the grant is to help fellows advance their doctoral research work through a residency period of five to ten months in a host institution in a country other than their home country or country of residence. During the research period at the host institution, the fellows are expected to have access to essential resources such as reference books and research publications, databases, and software; attend seminars and eventually courses; and to benefit by interacting with peers.

Host Institution

Candidates should be accepted or invited by a host institution which would designate an academic advisor to assist the fellow during his research period. Host institutions should also commit to provide the fellow with basic amenities such as office space and access to a computer, and to facilitate his/her research activities.

Fellowships Award

Eligible candidates are evaluated by external reviewers based on three criteria: academic performance, teaching and research experience, and relevance of the proposed research program. The top candidates are submitted to the Selection Committee, which includes World Bank senior experts and Donors representatives, for final selection. In addition to the merit criteria, the Selection Committee takes into account other factors such as availability of budget, geographical diversity and gender balance.

Grants

Candidates are requested to submit a budget for their fellowship covering the costs related to their research program: travel; insurance and living expenses; fees for courses and participation to seminars; and a books and software allowance. The grant amount to be awarded to each fellow will be decided by the Selection Committee. The maximum amount of the grant is US$ 25,000.

Fellow’s Commitment

Fellows are required to issue two reports, a mid-term report during the fellowship period and a final report containing the results of the research. The results of the McNamara fellows research work may be considered for publication by the World Bank. Fellows are expected to return to their home countries and resume their academic or research position upon completion of the fellowship. They are also expected to mention the McNamara fellowship award in any publication related to their doctoral research work, including their thesis, and to provide the Program with a copy of their thesis upon graduation.

Qualifying Details
Studentships pay a stipend of £3168 per year for MPhil/PhD students, and may be held for up to 3 years for full-time students; other studentships are available for MA students. Awards may also be made for part-time study, on a pro rata basis. Applicants will have been accepted for postgraduate study in the School and, if from the UK, are likely to have applied for an Award from the AHRC (deadline 1st May) or the ORS Award.

The University of Edinburgh will offer ten scholarships for undergraduate study in any subject offered by the university. The scholarship will be £1,000 per year and will be tenable for the duration of the programme of study.
Eligibility

The scholarships are competitive and will be awarded to citizens from Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and USA who are accepted for admission on a full-time basis for an undergraduate programme.

The scholarship will be awarded broadly on the basis of academic merit.

The scholarship is not available to students already on programme.

Applicants should have applied through UCAS, should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so. Accepting the University of Edinburgh as an insurance offer does not satisfy the conditions relating to this scholarship.

Selection Procedure

A University of Edinburgh Selection Committee will meet in mid April 2008 to select the scholarship holders. The winners of the scholarship will be announced in late April 2008.

Graduate School of Engineering (Three Departments), The University of Tokyo, offer advanced study and research opportunities to foreign students in the framework of the Special Graduate Program on Engineering for Systems Innovation (“the Special Program”).

The program offers:

* Master’s (2 years)
* Doctoral (3 years)

courses leading to the degrees of Master of Engineering and Doctor of Engineering degrees in the Three Departments, respectively.

Those accepted to Special Graduate Program on Engineering for Systems Innovation will be enrolled in the winter semester which begins on October 1, 2008. Research and instruction are conducted both in English and in Japanese. Japanese language courses are offered by the Department of Systems Innovation.

The students for Special Graduate Program on Engineering for Systems Innovation will be selected primarily based on academic qualification. To be eligible for admission to the Master’s program an applicant must hold Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. For admission to the doctoral program an applicant must hold a Master’s Degree or its equivalent. The age of the applicant must be under 35 on April 1, 2008 and must be citizens of countries with whom the Japanese government has diplomatic relations.

How To Apply
The following documents (originals and/or several copies as indicated) must reach the Foreign Student Office of the Department of Quantum Engineering and Systems Science by January 4, 2008. In case you want to submit the application urgently to meet the due date please send at first the documents in PDF files by email, then submit the original ones through ordinary mail.

The necessary materials to be submitted:

* One original and five copies of Application for Japanese Government (Monbukagakusyo) Scholarship (Form #1).
* One original and five copies of Field of Study and Study Program (Form #2).

* One original and five A4-sized copies of Certificate of Graduation and Diploma of Degree for each study period (Bachelor, Master, Doctor), with English translation if the original one is not in English.
* One original and five A4-sized copies of Official Transcript or Academic Record of undergraduate and graduate study from each institution which the applicant graduated from or is presently enrolled in, with English translation if the original one is not in English.
* Two evaluation reports (Confidential Evaluation Report on Applicant). One evaluator must be a dean or a person in higher position in the institution, the other should be a faculty member of the institution which the applicant is presently attending or attended most recently, who knows the applicant well such as an academic advisor. The evaluation is expected to rank the applicant according to his/her grade within certain education unit, for example, “top 5% among 98 students of the department, top 3 among 350 students” (see Sample). The report should be signed, sealed then sent directly to the Foreign Students Office of the Department of Quantum Engineering and Systems Science.
* A recommendation Letter from dean or a person in higher position of the institution. The letter should address to the President of The University of Tokyo and be directly sent to the Foreign Students Office of the Department of Quantum Engineering and Systems Science. Recommender’s E. mail address and telephone number must be indicated.
* Six copies of census register, passport or other proof of citizenship (do not need to send the original passport).
* Six passport-size photographs (6cm x 4cm) taken within past six months.
* A summery of thesis, research papers and other publications authored by applicant.
* Score of TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or official certificate of your English capability. This does not apply to the native English speakers.
* Score of GRE (Graduate Record Examination), if available.
