Sydney Water Civil Engineering Scholarship
Sydney Water delivers essential and sustainable water solutions for the benefit of the community, providing drinking water, recycled water, wastewater services and some stormwater services to more than four million people in Sydney, the Illawarra and the Blue Mountains.
The Sydney Water Civil Engineering Scholarship seeks to encourage young people to pursue a career in civil engineering and the water industry, The scholarship not only provides financial support to help UWS engineering students through their studies but the opportunity for paid work placements. These placements provice students with valuable hands-on experience and the chance to apply their theoretical training while they are learning.
Courses
Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering (Advanced), for the Civil Engineering key program only.
Eligibility
New or continuing students.
Benefits
$5000 per year.
Duration
Up to four years of full time study.
Criteria
Applicants:
- must receive an offer or be currently enrolled to study full-time in the Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering (Advanced) at UWS, and intending to complete the Civil Engineering key program
- should demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in the water industry, as demonstrated in the personal statement section of their scholarship application
- should be willing to complete paid work experience with Sydney Water throughout their degree
Application and Selection Process
Applicants must provide a statement in support of their application indicating how they believe the receipt of the scholarship will assist them with their studies and in their future career. This statement should give a sufficient explanation of the applicant’s background and current circumstances to enable the University to judge their eligibility, need and merit.Successful applicants will be selected based on their written application, academic potential, their ability to meet the criteria and, where appropriate, performance in an interview before a selection panel.
