New Zealand-ASEAN Scholars Awards: Indonesia
 


Background  

The New Zealand-ASEAN Scholars Awards seek to make a substantial contribution to ASEAN’s development by providing opportunities for postgraduate study (i.e. Postgraduate Diploma, Master’s degree and doctorate/PhD) in New Zealand.
The New Zealand-ASEAN Scholars Awards (NZ-AS) are part of the New Zealand’s official development assistance to the ASEAN region. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, through the New Zealand Aid Programme, delivers this scholarships scheme.
Under the NZ-AS scheme, up to 170 scholarships are available to candidates from ASEAN countries. From the total of 170, up to 52 scholarships per annum are available for Indonesian applicants.
The scholarships are for full-time study (See the scholarships benefits) at one of nine eligible New Zealand institutions. See the list of eligible New Zealand education institutions

Who can apply?

Individuals who meet the following profile may apply for the NZ-AS scholarships:
  • From the public or private sector;
  • With a proposed field of study in support of sustainable economic development ,as the core focus of the New Zealand Aid Programme, especially agriculture, renewable energy (Geothermal) and disaster risk management;
  • Strong candidates from all areas will be considered, especially candidates who can demonstrate leadership quality and potential for future leadership;
  • Preferably be under 40 years of age at the time of application for Masters and under 45 years of age at the time of application for PhD
  • Those with work experiences in a field relevant to their intended course of postgraduate study, and can demonstrate a connection between their previous field of study and their intended field of postgraduate study.
Applicants must also meet the general eligibility criteria outlined in the ASEAN Scholarships  under  Indonesia Country Portfolio.

Targeted Candidates

  • People from Eastern Indonesia (West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, Maluku, North Maluku, Papua and West Papua);
  • Individuals prioritised who are from the Ministries of Agriculture, Forestry, Mineral Resources and Energy, Marine Resources and Fisheries, (including relevant research institutions under those Ministries); Environment; Tourism; Education, Foreign Affairs, National Police, National Agency for Planning and Development and Ministry of Defence (civilian officials).

Info Beasiswa di The Heinrich Böll Foundation scholarships

The Heinrich Böll Foundation offers scholarships for students of all nationalities per year. These scholarships are for those undergraduates, graduates, and doctoral students who are pursuing their degree at universities of applied sciences or universities of the arts in Germany. The Heinrich Böll Foundation grants scholarships to approximately 1,000 undergraduates, graduates, and doctoral students of all subjects and nationalities per year. The applications deadline is 1st March 2013.

International education and training has long been one of the TaiwanICDF's core operations, among many others. Human resources development programs play a vital role in assisting partner countries achieve sustainable development, and education is a crucial mechanism for training workforces in developing countries. The TaiwanICDF provides scholarships for higher education and has developed undergraduate, graduate and Ph.D. programs in cooperation with renowned partner universities in Taiwan.

Entitlements: The TaiwanICDF provides each scholarship recipient with a full scholarship, including return airfare, housing, tuition and credit fees, insurance, textbook costs and amonthly allowance.

The TaiwanICDF has established the Taiwan International Cooperation Alliance (TICA) with its partner universities, setting up an operational platform under this TICA framework to manage and improve the scholarship program. Info Beasiswa The Singapore Scholarship

The Singapore Scholarship was announced by then Prime Minister of Singapore Mr Goh Chok Tong at the 6th ASEAN Summit in December 1998. 

The Scholarship is awarded to students from the other ASEAN member countries and tenable for a full-time undergraduate degree course at one of the three universities in Singapore. All disciplines except for Medicine, Dentistry, Architecture and Law are open to Scholars. The duration of each Scholarship is for three or four years, depending on the discipline. 

The award is based on academic merit and places will be allocated by open competition. If necessary, a one-year bridging or foundation programme, in addition to the undergraduate studies, will be provided. 

There is no bond imposed on the Scholarship by the Singapore Government. The Scholars are expected to return home to contribute to the development of their countries upon graduation.

Citizens of ASEAN member countries (except Singapore) are eligible to apply for the Singapore Scholarship.

Candidates must have an outstanding academic record, a good command of English and meet the entry requirements for NTU, NUS and SMU. The Singapore Scholarship is awarded on acompetitive basis on academic merit.

(PhD or SJD) in the last five years to undertake research in a field
