Program Magister Teknik Elektro Opsi Teknologi Media Digital & Game untuk
tahun ajaran 2010. Tersedia berbagai macam skema beasiswa dengan berbagai
persyaratannya untuk pelaksanaan semester I/II tahun ajaran 2010/2011.
Mahasiswa dengan IPK>3,25 (setelah lulus TPA dan TOEFL) berpeluang besar
mendapatkan beasiswa dan diharapkan dapat mendaftarkan diri sedini mungkin.

Selain itu juga dibuka pendaftaran beasiswa program doktor untuk topik-topik
terkait TMDG untuk residensi di KK Teknik Komputer atau KK Sistem Kendali &

UNESCO/Poland Fellowships

UNESCO/Poland Fellowships

With a view to promoting human resource capacities in the least developed countries (LDCs) and to enhancing international understanding and friendship among nations and the people of Poland, the Polish National Commission for UNESCO and the AGH International Promotion Centre for Technology and Engineering Education (AGH IPCTEE) under the auspice of UNESCO & AGH University of Science and Technology (Krakow), are placing at the disposal of UNESCO fifteen (15) fellowships of a six months duration starting on 1 October 2010 for the benefit of Member States listed in Annex I of the announcement letter. Beneficiaries of these fellowships will be given the opportunity to undertake an individual research programme in the field of Science and Technology.

Details regarding the fellowships offered and the criteria of selection are listed below. The Polish authorities will make the final decision.


A. FIELD OF RESEARCH ( for more detailed information, please see Annex III of the announcement letter)

1. Two (2) fellowships: Advance Ceramic Materials; Field of research: ceramic, Material Engineering, Material Engineering Education;

2. One (1) fellowship: Assessment of geotouristic values of selected geological objects; Field of research: Geotourism;

3. Two (2) fellowships: Availability problems in transportation systems and devices; Field of research: Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Safety Education

4. Two (2) fellowships: CO² Sequestration into deep saline aquifers; Field of research: Petroleum Engineering, Hydrogeology, Petroleum Geology, Mechanics;

5. One (1) fellowship: Comparison of copper polymetallic mineralization from selected sites in NW Botswana and Poland; Field of research: Economic Geology;

6. One (1) fellowship: Diverging Patterns of European Culture in the Globalizing World; Field of research: Sociology and socio-cultural anthropology;

7. One (1) fellowship: Drilling Methods of Ground Modification; Field of research: Geoengineering;

8. Two (2) fellowships: Intelligent control system and devices of operation transportation devices; Field of research: Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Transport Education;

9. Two (2) fellowships: Material handling system and devices – transportation in manufacture; Field of research: Transportation, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Transport and Logistic;

10. One (1) fellowship: Reservoir geophysics for hydrocarbon and water prospection; Field of research: Geology Geophysics and Environmental Protection, Mechanics.


B. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Please see Annex III of the announcement letter for a detailed explanation of requirements for each programme (as they vary from one another).

C. FACILITIES OFFERED BY THE POLISH AUTHORITIES

(i) Free tuition;
(ii) Monthly allowance of 1350 PLN zlotys (approximatively US$ 450) corresponding to the salary of a local junior research fellow. Thus, all living expenses in Poland are to be borne by the fellows with this allowance; and;
(iii) An installation allowance of 1350 PLN zlotys to be paid upon arrival.

No provision to finance or lodge family members is made.

At the end of the research studies, the beneficiaries will receive a certificate attesting to their attendance at the host institution.

D. FACILITIES OFFERED BY UNESCO

(i) International travel expenses: (at the most economical rate) from the beneficiary’s country to Poland and return will be covered by UNESCO under its Regular Programme Budget.

(ii) Health insurance for fellowship beneficiaries who are declared medically fit: UNESCO fellowship holders may be covered by a special accident/ health insurance policy, taken out by the Organization for the duration of the fellowship. The costs of the health insurance is subscribed to and covered by UNESCO* on behalf of the fellows.

* ONLY THE TWO SELECTED CANDIDATES WILL BE REQUIRED TO SEND TO THE FELLOWHIPS DEPARTMENT PROGRAMME SECTION A COMPLETE MEDICAL DOSSIER, THE PRESCRIBED FORM OF WHICH WILL BE SENT ALONG WITH THE LETTER OF AWARD.

E. VISA

Selected fellows from countries where there are Polish Embassies or Consulates will have to obtain their entry visa in the country prior to their departure. Fellows from countries where no such Embassy/ Consulate exists must secure their visa through the nearest Embassy of Poland.

UNESCO/POLAND provide no allowance to defray passport and visa expenses and the selected beneficiaries will have to secure themselves their own visa.

F. SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FILES

One candidature per invited Member State. Original applications in duplicate must be channelled through the National Commission for UNESCO of the candidate’s country and reach Mr. Ali Zaid, Chief, Participation Programme and Fellowships Section, by 15 June 2010 at the latest. An advance copy of the application may be sent by fax (33.1) 45.68.55.03. Applications should have imperatively the following attachments in DUPLICATE:

(i) UNESCO fellowships application forms, duly completed in English;
(ii) Two photographs attached to the applications (4x6 cm);
(iii) Certified copies (in English) of Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree obtained; and,
(iv) The UNESCO certificates of language knowledge, duly completed by a relevant authority, if the mother tongue of the candidate is not English.

Deadline: 15 June 2010 at the latest

IMPORTANT

It is the National authority’s responsibility to ensure that all candidates are duly informed of the above conditions prior to the submission of applications.

Files which are incomplete or which are received after the deadline as well as candidatures that do not fulfil the requirements will not be taken into consideration.

Only the selected candidates will receive a letter through their respective National Commissions for UNESCO.

Humphrey Fellowship
The Humphrey Fellowship Program provides a year of professional enrichment in the United States for experienced professionals from designated countries throughout the world. Fellows are selected based on their potential for leadership and their commitment to public service in either the public or private sector.
Each year approximately 200 Fellows funded by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State engage in non-degree study and related professional experiences at selected American universities. Started in 1978, the program now has a network of over 4,000 alumni in 157 countries around the world working to improve their communities and the lives of those in need.
Fellows are placed at one of eighteen American universities chosen for excellence in relevant Humphrey fields and for the resources and support they offer Humphrey Fellows. The host campus selection process is open to all universities. This year’s university competition is in the field of Substance Abuse Education, Treatment, and Prevention.

Completed a university degree program requiring at least four years of full-time study in order to qualify for admission to U.S. programs of graduate study.

Proficiency in both written and spoken English with a minimum TOEFL test scores of 525 paper-based or 71 Internet-based. Candidates with lower scores may be nominated for the Long Term English Training.

Demonstrate the required experience, skills, and commitment while also indicating how they can benefit from this program in ways that they have not already experienced.

The Humphrey Fellowship grants provide round-trip transportation to the United States, tuition fees and living expenses for full-time study. Grant provisions do not include financial support for dependents.

3. PERSYARATAN KHUSUS

Persyaratan khusus yang berlaku bagi para calon mahasiswa yang ingin menggunakan jalur pembiayaan non-reguler (beasiswa) adalah sebagaimana yang tercantum dalam dokumen Pembiayaan Pendidikan di Sampoerna School of Education.
Selain persyaratan umum seperti yang tercantum diatas calon mahasiswa wajib melengkapi dokumen pendukung lainnya seperti yang tercantum di bawah ini:

a. Warga Negara Indonesia.

b. Menjelaskan dan menunjukan bukti kebutuhan tunjangan keuangan untuk melanjutkan pendidikan dengan melengkapi informasi yang tercantum dalam formulir pendaftaran mahasiswa baru SSE.

c. Memiliki prestasi akademik dan non-akademik yang tinggi semasa SMA yang dapat dibuktikan dengan nilai raport atau surat rekomendasi guru atau kepala sekolah.

d. Lulus proses seleksi beasiswa.

PhD Studentship in the School for Health

"Motivational Responses To Physical Activity And Dietary Policies: Translating Success From The Smoking Context"

Applications are invited for a full-time studentship at the University of Bath (starting October 2010).

Background

The research will take a theory-based approach to exploring the potential to translate strategies found to be successful in reducing smoking prevalence in the UK, to tackling obesity. With obesity levels continually rising, this studentship provides the opportunity to conduct novel and original research in an important and highly topical area. In particular, the research will explore how current social policies to promote physical activity and a healthy diet are perceived and interpreted with respect to motivation for behaviour change. The research will take an interdisciplinary approach combining psychological and social policy perspectives.

The successful applicant will conduct their research within the School for Health and the UK Centre for Tobacco Control Studies under the academic supervision of Dr Fiona Gillison and Professor Linda Bauld.

Research setting:

The School for Health houses research groups from a broad range of disciplines including sport and exercise science, psychology and health, providing students with a vibrant and varied perspective on their research area. The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to join the UK Centre for Tobacco Control Studies (UKCTCS), and develop links with a community of researchers working on tobacco control at a national level. As part of the wider graduate school in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, students will have access to skill development courses, research student seminars and conferences, and access to research seminars and colloquia. Eligible students (i.e., possessing a Stage 1 qualification) will have the opportunity to work towards their Stage 2 qualification in Health Psychology alongside their studies.

Role Description:

Within the broad area of research outlined, the details of the research work programme will be designed together with the successful candidate. Duties will include:

* successfully completing a PhD thesis
* contributing to the School for Health research activities including research presentations and publications
* being an active member of the postgraduate student group and wider department

Requirements:

* A good first degree (upper second or first - or equivalent) in a Health or Social Science related discipline.
* A strong understanding of theories of behaviour change.
* Practical experience of methods of quantitative analysis.
* A desire to work towards long-term goals and ability to meet deadlines.
* Good verbal and written communication skills, and IT literate.
* Have an acceptable English qualification (e.g. GCSE, IELTS etc).

Graduates with experience and/or a Masters degree are particularly welcomed. Current final year undergraduates are also eligible to apply.

Fees and stipend:

The successful candidate will be supported for 3 years at research council rates (approximately £13,400 stipend for 2010-2011 plus UK/EU tuition fees). Overseas students outside EU are eligible to apply, however they must be able to fund the additional amount due for overseas tuition fees (please enquire for details).

The Mathematics Education Centre (MEC, http://mec.lboro.ac.uk) has funding to offer a full-time three year studentship to a well-qualified applicant wanting to carry out research in an area related to the interests of its staff. Entry Requirements

All candidates must have (or expect to gain) a good honours degree (usually at least 2.1) in Mathematics, Education, Psychology or a related discipline. Essential for success are good English language skills, both oral and written. We welcome applicants from the EU and Overseas who are fluent in English (this can be demonstrated via a number of different qualifications). The successful applicant will be expected, with support, to study relevant research literature, attend appropriate training to fill gaps in their preparation and develop their general skills, identify research questions and take the lead in designing and conducting studies to investigate these questions. They will also be expected to take a full part in the research life of the Centre, participating in research seminars and reading group sessions, giving presentations and seeking funding to attend conferences. Applicants should submit the following:

* A one-page CV summarising relevant experience and skills.
* A one-page cover letter describing their reasons for wishing to undertake PhD study in their chosen area and the personal qualities that they will bring.
* A two-page essay on one or more issues affecting learning in undergraduate mathematics.
