The Fellowship brings journalists from Asia to Singapore's Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information at Nanyang Technological University for three months.

 Eligibility
Applicants should have at least five years of full-time working experience as journalists (not including as student journalists) and possess potential for leadership and management within the profession or organisation.
Applicants should be residing in Asia. Preference is given to those working for Asian media organisations.
Applicants can be working in any medium — print, radio, television or online.
Journalists working in non-English media are welcome to apply, but must show proficiency in English through a telephone interview, as English is the working language of the programme.
Applications from journalists in full-time positions must be accompanied by a letter of support from employers, stating that the applicant would be released for the full period of the fellowship, from 25 February to 20 May 2012. Freelancers are welcome to apply if they are primarily engaged in news or current affairs journalism

All the required documents must reach the Wee Kim Wee School no later than 5pm (Singapore Time), Friday 14th October 2011.

Your application is not complete until we receive all the following:
  • Completed application form
  • Employer's letter of support (not required for freelancers). 
  • 3 letters of recommendation. 
  • 3-5 samples of past work. Read the "Guidance" section on the last page of the Application Form for more details.

Cambridge International Scholarship Scheme (CISS) (UK)

The University of Cambridge will offer, via the Cambridge Trusts, approximately 80 Cambridge International Scholarships to Overseas Students who embark on a research course in the next academical year. The awards will be made on a competitive basis to those applicants considered by their departments to be the most outstanding.

Eligibility
Eligibility To be eligible to receive a Cambridge International Scholarship students must:
1. be liable to pay the Overseas University Composition Fee.
2. be engaged in a three year research programme leading to the PhD (i.e. will be registered as PhD, "Probationary PhD" or "CPGS") starting in the next academical year.
3. be engaged in full-time study.
4. have a high upper-second-class undergraduate honours degree from a UK Higher Education Institution, or an equivalent from an Overseas Institution.

Beasiswa Clarendon Fund, University of Oxford, UK

We are delighted to announce that the Clarendon Fund has now opened up to all graduate applicants regardless of nationality. From 1 September 2011, all graduate applicants to degree-bearing courses for 2012/13 entry will be eligible for this prestigious scholarship funding which has, up until now, only been open to candidates with overseas fee status.

By applying for graduate study at Oxford University (Application Form for Graduate Study) you will automatically be considered for a Clarendon Scholarship. You do not need to submit any additional documents specifically for the Clarendon Scholarships and there is no separate scholarship application form.

The information that you provide with your application form for graduate study at Oxford will be used to assess your funding application. Once the application deadline has passed, you are not able to provide any additional supporting

materials (unless the department you are applying to has specifically requested this in support of your application for admission to Oxford).
The closing date for Graduate Admissions for 2012/13 is Friday 20 January 2012.

Czech Government Scholarships

Scholarship Awards within the Foreign Development Assistance Programme - offer for the academic year 2012/2013
General information on the scholarship programme:
The Government of the Czech Republic offers a number of scholarships within the framework of its Foreign Development Assistance Programme in support of the study of foreign nationals from developing countries at public institutions of higher education in the Czech Republic. 
These so called Government Scholarships are designed to cover the standard length of study: 
1) in Bachelor/Master study programmes plus one-year preparatory course of the Czech language (which is combined with other field-specific training). Government scholarships of this category are awarded to graduates from upper secondary schools who can enrol only in study programmes in which they follow instruction in the Czech language. Depending on the subject area, applicants are normally required to take entrance examinations at the respective institution of higher education. The scholarship award is conditional upon a successful passing of entrance examinations;
or  
2) in follow-up Master study programmes or Doctoral study programmes. Government scholarships of this category are awarded to graduates of Bachelor or Master study programmes, respectively, who enrol in study programmes with instruction in the English language.

Foreign nationals who have been granted permanent residence in the Czech Republic are not eligible to apply for Government scholarships.
A limited number of scholarships is offered to students from developing countries who file their applications with the respective National UNESCO Commissions. Applications sent directly to the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport will not be processed.

We are seeking your assistance in circulating information on the United Nations – the Nippon Foundation of Japan Fellowship Programme, a fully funded research Fellowship for developing State ocean professionals. The main objective of the Fellowship is to provide advanced education and training in the field of ocean affairs and the law of the sea, and related disciplines, to government officials and other mid-level professionals from developing States. We are pleased to note that during the last seven years, 70 awards have been made to nationals of 55 States.
Successful candidates will undertake their research/studies in two back-to-back phases: the first, lasting six months, with a participating academic host institution; and the second, lasting three months, with the Division for Ocean Affairs and the Law of the Sea (DOALOS), UN Office of Legal Affairs, or an appropriate participating host institution. The Fellowship application deadline is 15 September 2011, and candidates should forward their applications directly to DOALOS. Successful candidates will be expected to begin their placements early in 2012.
