Person Specification
Successful candidates will be admitted to the MPhil/PhD programme in
Mathematics (Pure or Applied).
The Teaching Assistantships last for 4 years and will cover tuition
fees at UK/EU rate plus a stipend of approximately £15,590 per annum
based on the standard EPSRC rate. Teaching Assistants will spend 25%
of their time teaching and the rest devoted to research towards their
PhD.
EPSRC funding will cover tuition fees at UK/EU rate plus a stipend of
approximately £15,590 per annum based on the standard EPSRC rate.
This is tenable for 3 or 4 years (exact duration to be confirmed).
UCL Graduate Research Scholarships, tenable for 3 years, will cover
tuition fees at UK/EU rate plus a stipend of approximately £15,590 per
annum based on the standard EPSRC rate.
Overseas Research Scholarships (non EU applications only), tenable for
3 or 4 years, cover the difference in PhD fees between Overseas and
UK/EU rates. Successful candidates may also be nominated for a Dean's
Prize, providing scholarships up to the value of UCL student fees.

Applicants should possess a good honours degree (1st class or 2:1
minimum) in Mathematics, or an equivalent qualification from other
countries.

50th Anniversary PhD Studentships 2013
University of Kent -Kent Law School
Kent Law School (KLS) invites applications for full time research
studentships leading to the degree of PhD commencing in September
2013. These studentships are being awarded in celebration of the
University’s 50th anniversary. The funding for these studentships will
be available for one year in the first instance, and extended for a
second and then a third year providing verifiable progress has been
made (in teaching and research).
Successful applicants for the studentships will receive a maintenance
grant equivalent to that offered by the ESRC (£13,590 in 2012/13) and
a fee grant which will fully cover tuition fees, whether paid at the
home/EU rate (£3,828 in 2012/13) or at the overseas rate (£11,625 in
2012/13). Those awarded a studentship may be expected to do some
teaching on an undergraduate law module, at the direction of the Head
of School.
Research at Kent
Kent Law School was ranked the 6th best law school in the UK in the
2008 Research Assessment Exercise. It enjoys a pluralistic
intellectual environment for research, where theoretical and empirical
work, critical legal scholarship and interdisciplinary studies all

KLS hosts a lively postgraduate research community. Some funding is
available for PhD students, including those without studentships, to
attend conferences and present their research. Students receive
substantive research training, through a research methods module for
all first year students, and further opportunities to engage with
critical scholarship through weekly postgraduate study groups, and
several student-led reading groups.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should normally have obtained, or be about to obtain an
undergraduate degree of at least Upper Second Class Honours level (2:1
or equivalent from other countries), or a postgraduate degree.
It would be an advantage for applicants to demonstrate how their
research will contribute to existing debates in their field, as well
as how the candidate will contribute to our vibrant postgraduate
community. We particularly welcome research proposals in socio-legal
and critical legal studies, and encourage applicants to reflect on the
methodology of their research from a theoretically informed
perspective.

The International PhD (IPHD) Program at Sun Yat-Sen Business School
Overview
The International PhD (IPHD) Program at Sun Yat-sen Business School (SYSBS) is designed to foster IPHD students to become top-notch doctoral students in both China and the world. At present, the program concentrates on one major – international management (IM) – coached by a team of domestically and internationally renowned faculty in the field. It is a full-time, five-year (or less), fully funded program offering the students tuition waiver and stipend. The program also arranges and financially supports each student one-year overseas training and research mentored by internationally reputed scholars. The program aims to place its doctoral students, after completing the program, in top Chinese business schools or internationally recognized business schools abroad.
Distinctions
Ø The program focuses on establishing a solid theoretical and methodological foundation on which the doctoral students can build for their future research and academic career. Most courses (theories, methods, advanced topics), specifically designed for this program, will be offered by internationally reputed scholars. Courses are taught in English.
Ø Each student will be mentored throughout the program by a faculty team consisting of internationally established scholars from the U.S. and from SYSBS. The students are expected to sharpen their skills in research and publications not merely through coursework but by collaborative research with their international mentors or advisors.
Ø The program will financially support each student for up to five years by covering his or her all tuition and stipend in commensuration with living expenses in Guangzhou, providing they maintain satisfactory progress in the program.
Ø During his or her up to 5-year period and after completing core coursework, each student will be sent overseas, studying under and researching with his or her international advisors for up to one year. This overseas study/visit will be financially sponsored by the program.
Ø IPHD students for this program are recruited globally (Chinese and foreign students) using international standards (e.g., GMAT). Likewise, once completing the program, their job placements are global too.
Ø The program also offers each student an opportunity to enhance teaching skills, conduct field studies, and financially support their international travel to attend and present at major international conferences.
Credentials
To be eligible for admission to this competitive program, an applicant is required to have (at least) a bachelor's degree from an internationally accredited university, top at his or her classes, and excel in English. All doctoral students are admitted as full-time, beginning in the fall.
All applicants are required to complete their GMAT or GRE test by the application deadline, which is February 15. The test must be taken within the past five years. International students must also submit an official report of TOEFL. An exception is made for foreign students who obtained a bachelor's degree in the U.S. or another English-speaking country.

b) Postgraduates who qualify for a doctoral/PhD programme in Austria
A letter of acknowledgement from an Austrian supervisor is a prerequisite for a successful application.
Maximum age:35 years or maximum 5 years after graduating from a master course, whichever applies.
Good knowledge of English and/or German for the respective study programme in Austria has to be proved.
Incomplete applications as well as those not complying with the specific conditions will not take part in the selection process.
Process: After submission of the documents to the OeAD, preselected candidates will be invited to an Interview in Indonesia. Nominated candidates apply for admission in an Austrian university. In the same time they have to submit a second application to the DIKTI. The decision about the final scholarship award will be made after successful admission.
Applicants should take into consideration § 1 of the Data Protection Act, Federal Law Gazette of the Republic of Austria No. 165/1999, as amended, that the personal details contained in the application will be passed on to the authority dealing with their application, the contractual partners, the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs and in the exchange as well as to other authorities awarding grants in Austria and will expressly agree with that.

Up to 40 need-based scholarships to international students
Bocconi University offers up to 40 need-based scholarships to international students enrolling in a Master of Science Program at Bocconi. The awarding of the scholarship also takes into consideration academic performances of the students.
THE SCHOLARSHIP
The Scholarship consists of full tuition waiver worth approximately € 11,500.00 per year for a maximum of 2 academic years. The renewal of the scholarship is subject to meeting merit criteria.
Scholarship applications must be submitted by the same deadline as that of applicant's Bocconi online admission's application; see table below.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Only applicants for the first year of a Bocconi Master program who meet all the following conditions will be taken into consideration for the awarding of the scholarship:

Application for Studies at DU
Before you apply for a scholarship, you must submit an application for the degree programme using the online application service for international programmes in Sweden at www.universityadmissions.se. Benefits and Requirements
Scholarships cover part of the tuition fee only and will not provide for accommodation, books, travel, or other personal or incidental expenses.
Tuition fees will be waived in part for successful applicants. Payments are not made to the applicant.
The award of the scholarship is conditional upon registering on campus in the degree programme for which the award is made.
The scholarship is valid only for programmes starting during the upcoming academic year and is usually granted for one academic year (two semesters). An extension is possible for programmes that are longer than two semesters provided that study results are satisfactory.
The award period can neither be altered nor be extended, and awards cannot be used towards or during exchange studies.

Scholarships are available to citizens of all non-EU/EEA countries who are required to pay tuition fees for full-time temporary studies at Dalarna University. However, applicants from the following countries who are eligible for the Swedish Institute scholarships are not eligible to apply for the DU scholarships:
Bangladesh, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Cambodia, Kenya, Mali, Mozambique, Rwanda, Uganda and Zambia.

Selection and Decision
The Office of Education and Research at DU is responsible for the processing of scholarship applications.
Great emphasis is placed on the applicant’s previous education, references and cover letter. The Vice Chancellor makes the final decision on awards.
Limitations
Only applicants who have been selected in the first selection round at www.universityadmissions.se may be considered. There is no age limit; however, you are not eligible for the scholarships if you are already studying in the programme in question.

The 2-year Master in Public Policy (MPP) Programme is designed for young professionals who seek rigorous education and training in public affairs. The MPP program provides a strong foundation for future public service leaders in policy analysis, programme evaluation, and management in the public and private sector. The programme prepares candidates with skills that enables them to work in many settings — from national, state, and local government; and in think tanks, consulting firms, multilateral institutions and non-profit organizations.
Taught by our eminent faculty who come from some of the most prestigious institutions globally, the small class size of 60 students facilitates dynamic interaction between professors and students, and amongst the students themselves . A prestigious network of partner institutions worldwide allows qualified Master students a unique opportunity to spend a year abroad pursuing a double degree or spend a semester abroad on exchange.

Financial Aid
More than 50 percent of the LKY School students study on merit based scholarships. All students can apply for the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP) and Chang Yung-Fa scholarships. Furthermore, prospective students can also apply for more scholarships based on nationality.
Applicants for financial aid simply need to complete (as part of the general application process) the Financial Aid Application Form which requires the applicant to indicate maximum of 3 scholarships he/she chooses. Upon successful admission to the LKY School, more specific information on grants will be communicated to the financial aid applicant. Students can also work as research or staff assistants, either within the School or with external institutions across Singapore.
Admission Requirements
Candidates accepted into the programme will normally have up to 5 years of work experience and the average age is mid-20’s. Although bright fresh graduates will be considered, the MPP candidate preferably should have displayed interest and/or experience in a public service environment.
Admission requirements are as follows:
NUS honours degree (minimum 2nd Upper) or an equivalent degree (i.e. Bachelor dgree with an average grade of B or above)
Valid TOEFL or IELTS test scores (only for international applicants without a degree from an English-medium institution in Australia, Canada, Ireland, NZ, UK or the US); a score of at least 580 on TOEFL paper based test / 85 on TOEFL internet based test or 6.5 on IELTS preferred

MPP students can apply to “double degree” programmes with Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po), University of Geneva, Peking University or the University of Tokyo. While admission is highly competitive, accepted students spend one year at the LKY School and the second at the partner institution (application to the double degree partner is made at the end of the first semester at LKY School). Upon successful completion of the programme they will be awarded two degress from the respective institutions. The school also offers double degree programmes with NUS Faculty of Law and NUS Business School.
MPP students can also benefit from exchanges in the second year with more than a dozen world class universities including Georgetown University, Tsinghua and University of St Gallen. Accepted students spend one semester at the partner institution.
To obtain direct practical experience, MPP students must undertake a public policy or management study, called the Policy Analysis Exercise (PAE), for a client in the public, private, or non-profit sector.
MPP students also have the option of pursuing an internship in the public, private or not-for-profit sector in the summer or winter break. The School actively engages with leading think tanks, consulting firms, multilateral institutions and non-profit organizations to help facilitate internships for students.

The MPP program is full time and fully taught in English. The core curriculum focus is on quantative skills and analysis, economics, political science, management and leadership. It comprises of completing 8 core modules, 7 electives and a Policy Analysis Exercise (PAE) with a client in the public or private sector.

BIZCAMP Challenge: Prasetiya Mulya for Indonesia Future Business Leaders merupakan suatu kegiatan kompetisi antar lulusan program S1 fresh graduate dan mahasiswa S1 tingkat akhir dari beberapa universitas ternama di Indonesia. Tujuannya adalah untuk mencari talenta baru calon pemimpin bisnis Indonesia masa depan yang memiliki karakter kuat. Pada kegiatan BIZCAMP ini, peserta akan diberikan tantangan merancang proposal bisnis yang inovatif serta proyek kegiatan sosial dan lingkungan. Prasetiya Mulya Business School akan memberikan pembekalan pengetahuan bisnis dan pelatihan keterampilan dengan melibatkan para professional bisnis untuk sesi sharing, guest lecture dan coaching. Diharapkan peserta memahami bahwa sebagai calon pemimpin bisnis masa depan, tidak hanya aspek keuntungan bisnis saja yang menjadi fokus, namun juga berpikir tentang aspek lingkungan dan dampak positif terhadap kehidupan masyarakat.
Tujuan diadakannya program BIZCAMP:
BIZCAMP Challenge bertujuan untuk mencari talenta baru pemimpin bisnis masa depan yang memiliki karakter sebagai berikut:
Memiliki jiwa dan sikap sebagai pemimpin (leadership), terutama sebagai pemimpin yang visioner (mempunyai visi jelas ke depan).
Memiliki kemampuan problem solving, yaitu mampu melakukan identifikasi dan memahami masalah yang sedang dihadapi, menghasilkan beberapa solusi alternatif, dan kemudian mengimplementasikan secara efektif untuk memecahkan permasalahan.
‘Berpikir secara Stratejik’ (Strategic Thinking), mampu menemukan dan mengembangkan suatu peluang yang unik untuk menciptakan suatu nilai melalui kemampuan dialog yang bersifat provokatif dan kreatif di antara orang-orang yang ada di dalam organisasi yang mampu mempengaruhi terhadap arah organisasi.
‘Berpikir secara Terintegrasi’ (Integrative Thinking), mampu menghadapi tekanan gagasan yang bertentangan secara konstruktif, menghasilkan resolusi yang kreatif dalam bentuk gagasan baru yang berisi elemen dari gagasan yang bertentangan ketimbang memilih salah satu dan mengorbankan yang lain.
Mampu memiliki pandangan tidak hanya dari satu aspek namun terdiri dari beberapa aspek yang sifatnya multi dan integratif (multi perspective thinking).
Memberi wadah bagi generasi muda untuk menuangkan dan memvisualisasikan pemikiran dan kreativitasnya dalam bentuk ide proposal bisnis yang inovatif.
Bentuk kegiatan program BIZCAMP:
Seleksi untuk mendapatkan 30 finalis terdiri atas rangkaian seleksi administratif dan tes potensi akademik, psikotes, diskusi kelompok, games, pembuatan proposal karya tulis dan presentasi serta wawancara. Seluruh proses menggunakan sistem gugur.
30 finalis terpilih akan mengikuti proses karantina dan kompetisi BIZCAMP.
Pemenang akan mendapatkan kesempatan beasiswa untuk melanjutkan pendidikan di program MM Prasetiya Mulya.
Syarat Kandidat Bizcamp
Persyaratan untuk mengikuti kompetisi BIZCAMP adalah:
Peserta adalah mahasiswa S1 sederajat (minimal semester 7 atau maksimal 2 tahun kelulusan).
Belum pernah dan/atau tidak sedang menjalani pendidikan S2.
Memiliki minat terhadap bidang bisnis, ekonomi, marketing atau akuntansi.
Memiliki prestasi yang baik di universitas.
Aktif dalam kegiatan organisasi, ekstra kurikuler dan kepanitiaan di sekolah maupun di luar sekolah.
Memiliki prestasi atau bakat lain diluar kemampuan akademis.
Lulus seluruh proses seleksi.
Bersedia mengikuti proses seleksi sesuai waktu yang ditetapkan.
Berminat serius untuk meneruskan pendidikan ke jenjang S2

8 (eight) major cities in Java Island on January – April 2013 (with a target number of ± 100 student registrants in each city). The cities to be visited are: Bandung, Bogor, Jakarta, Malang, Solo, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya.

Prasetiya Mulya will arrange admission test in other major cities with minimum of 30 participants.
The schedule for the admission test will be between 29 April – 05 May 2013.

The aim of the internship is to provide students who are thinking of entrance to our PhD course program with an opportunity to experience our education system and research activity. Our new Academic Excellence International Masters Scholarship supports overseas students who are funding their own studies at the University of Essex. We are offering a scholarship worth £2,000 if your grades in your first degree are equivalent to a UK first class degree.
This new scholarship scheme is for students seeking to join our University in October 2013. Awards will be made on the basis of grades obtained in your first degree, so all applications for relevant courses will automatically be considered. The scholarship is awarded as a partial tuition fee waiver and is available for students on postgraduate taught courses (excluding MBA).
All our relevant course applications, received by the given deadline, will automatically be considered for this scholarship and a fee discount applied to all who meet our grade requirements.
Eligibility
These scholarships are restricted to applicants who are overseas fee payers and are entirely self-funded. They are not available to students who are fully or partly sponsored.
Students must have been awarded a first degree with a grade equivalent to a UK first class honours bachelor’s degree.
Only one scholarship award can be made per student and the award cannot normally be held in conjunction with other University of Essex scholarships.
These scholarships do not apply to deferred entry. Where a student, to whom a scholarship has been offered, requests deferred entry, the award will be considered again in line with the terms and conditions that apply in the new proposed year of entry.
How do I apply?
These scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and all academic applications will automatically be considered.
The University will use official transcripts and certificates, submitted as part of the original application, as evidence of grades achieved and no alternative supporting evidence will be accepted.
Applicants who have firmly accepted an offer of a place by 30 September 2013, and met the academic conditions of entry, will be considered for these scholarships. Applications submitted after that date may be considered depending on availability of funds.
Successful applicants will be informed, in writing, by the end of October 2013 of any award to be offered.
Payment arrangements
These scholarships will only be made available as a partial waiver on the tuition fee that is payable on registration at the University.
